Testimonials

My dad,  Tadhg Dennehy, Cahersiveen was a patient in Valentia Cottage Hospital and Day Care Centre from February 2010 to April 2013. Up to then I had been completely unaware of the great work the staff at this centre were engaged in.  From the very first day, not alone were Tadhg’s every need catered for but meticulous care was also taken to make all members of his family feel assured and welcome. The facilities were always spotlessly clean, the meals very much to his approval and the medical care excellent. Perhaps more importantly, it gave Tadhg a dignity and an independence at a difficult time in his life and made the ageing process tolerable. Consequently it made our own visits something to look forward to as we could relax and chat and share special moments. The celebration of his 100th birthday there with the wider community and his new-found friends will always be a treasured memory. The facility in Valentia Island a is a wonderful essential service for the South Kerry area.
